    Chocolate Rice Pudding Recipe

    Here’s a novel idea for Valentine’s Day – skip the usual box of chocolates and surprise him or her with a homemade chocolate rice pudding instead! Check out our recipe video and learn how to make this fuss-free healthy treat for your significant other.


    Serves: 6
    Preparation time: 20 minutes
    Cooking time: 50 minutes


    ¾ cup Naturel Organic Brown Rice
    1 ¼ cups water
    1 ½ cups unsweetened milk
    1/3 cup brown sugar
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 tbsp Naturel Reduced Fat Spread
    2 tbsp unsweetened cocoa
    40 g raspberries
    40 g blueberries
    4-5 pcs mint leaves, finely sliced

    Cooking Method

    • Pour water into a saucepan and bring to a boil.
    • Add Naturel Organic Brown Rice into the saucepan and stir to even out the rice. Then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 30 minutes.
    • On the top of a double boiler over simmering water, combine 1 ½ cups of cooked Naturel Organic Brown Rice, brown sugar, unsweetened cocoa, vanilla extract, and Naturel Reduced Fat Spread.
    • Cook the mixture by stirring and mashing continuously till even. Then, add in unsweetened milk into the mixture. Continue to stir and mash the mixture occasionally for about 20 minutes until it is thickened.
    • Set aside the pudding mixture to cool.
    • Get a clean and empty recycled Naturel Organic Pasta Sauce jar with label removed. Then, add in the chocolate rice pudding layer by layer, alternating it with the blueberries, finely sliced mint leaves, chocolate rice pudding and the raspberries. Fill up the jar till the top. Finally, place mint leaves on top of the pudding.
    • Get creative and decorate the jar of pudding with a ribbon and heart tag. Present it to your sweetheart to surprise them!
