Homemade snacks are the best, especially if it’s one you made yourself. Try your hand at making this homemade baked vegetable chips.
Ingredients
Serves: 3-4
Preparation time: 20 – 30 minutes
Cooking time: 30 minutes
For baked chips:
3 tbsp Naturel Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Naturel Avocado Olive Spray Oil
1 medium potato
1 medium sweet potato
1 medium beetroot
2 pinches of salt
For seaweed seasoning:
3 full roasted seaweed
¼ cup wasabi powder
1 tsp salt
Cooking Method
For seaweed seasoning:
Crunch up the roasted seaweed sheets so they fit in the spice grinder. Pulse a few times until it turns into fine pieces.
Add wasabi powder and salt to the grinder and pulse until mixed well.
Set aside to season the chips later.
For baked chips:
Preheat oven to 200°C.
With a sharp knife, slice potato, sweet potato and beetroot into thin slices.
Then, place the sliced root vegetables on paper towels to gently pat dry.
Brush the sliced root vegetables lightly with Naturel Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
After that, lightly sprinkle one side of the sliced root vegetables with 2 pinches of salt.
Place seasoned side down onto 2 large parchment papers that have been sprayed lightly with Naturel Avocado Olive Spray Oil. Repeat for the unseasoned side.
Finally, place the sprinkled sliced root vegetables in the oven and bake for 12 minutes, before flipping over.
Bake the flipped chips for an additional 12 minutes or until golden brown.
Remove the baked chips and place onto a cooling rack for 5-10 minutes to finish crisping.
Transfer chips into a large mixing bowl. Add the desired amount of seaweed seasoning and toss to mix.
Serve your homemade baked vegetable chips in a bowl and kick back with your favourite drama series. Yums!
